

Laurence B. Siegel, director of research in the investment division of the $11.3 billion Ford Foundation, New York, was elected research director of the Research Foundation at the CFA Institute, effective Sept. 1, said Kathy Valentine, CFA spokeswoman. He replaces Mark P. Kritzman, managing director at Windham Capital Management. Separately, John Stannard, managing director of client service at Russell Investment Group, was elected to a one-year term as chairman of the board of governors at the CFA Institute. Mr. Stannard replaces Monique E.M. Gravel, first vice president and branch manager at CIBC Wood Gundy, who will remain on the board as immediate past chairwoman for one year. Vincent Duhamel, managing director of Goldman Sachs (Asia), will serve a one-year term as vice chairman, replacing Mr. Stannard. Additionally, Alida Carcano, James E. Hollis, Stanley G. Lee, Ashvin P. Vibhakar and Thomas B. Welch were elected as governors of the board, each serving three-year terms beginning Sept. 1. Ms. Carcano is managing director for investment advisory at Credit Suisse in Switzerland; Mr. Hollis, managing director of Cutter Associates; Mr. Lee, principal and portfolio manager at David J. Greene; Mr. Vibhakar, director of the Institute for Economic Advancement at the University of Arkansas; and Mr. Welch, managing director and regional manager at Wells Capital Management.
Fred Conley joined Genworth Financial as president and CEO of its recently formed Institutional Retirement Group, according to a news release. It is a new position. Mr. Conley was executive vice president of institutional sales at CitiStreet. Michael Bezdek, spokesman at CitiStreet, could not be reached by press time.
