Nasdaq Stock Market launched two indexes, an equal-weighted version of the Nasdaq-100 index and a health care index containing Nasdaq-listed companies classified as health, pharmaceutical or biotechnology by the FTSE global classification system, according to a news release from Nasdaq.
The Nasdaq-100 Equal Weighted index contains the same securities as the Nasdaq 100, which includes 100 of the largest non-financial companies listed on Nasdaq. Each of the securities in the new index is set at an initial weight of 1% of the index and will be rebalanced quarterly.
