The Ontario Teachers Pension Plan Board, Toronto, is restructuring its private equity group into three geographic-based areas, said Debra Hannah, spokeswoman. The group is currently structured by direct investments, funds and co-investments. As a result of the restructuring, the C$84.3 billion (US$69.47 billion) fund will not replace Mark Wiseman, former head of its funds and co-investment group, she said. Mr. Wiseman now heads the private equity and infrastructure unit.
Dean Metcalf will be vice president in charge of Canadian private equity; he was vice president in the direct investment section. Lee Sienna is being promoted to vice president in charge of U.S. private equity from vice president in the direct investment section. Erol Uzumeri will be director of non-North American investments; he was portfolio manager in the funds and co-investment section.
Ontario Teachers has $4.3 billion in private equity and $3 billion in infrastructure and timber, which is also included in the fund's private equity group.
