California State Teachers' Retirement System, Sacramento, made a $15 million co-investment with venture firm VantagePoint Partners in New Energy Capital, a private equity fund investing in clean energy companies, California state Controller Steven Westly announced. VantagePoint also invested $15 million in New Energy. The $1 23.5 billion system's investment was part of its $200 million commitment to its environmental clean technology private equity program, which is separate from the system's $150 million commitment to VantagePoint Venture Partners III.
