JPMorgan Chase has begun providing electronic distribution of corporate action documents for institutional investors, according to Tim Sheeley, vice president. The web-based system will give institutions access to shareholder communications related to corporate actions such as tender offers, mergers and acquisitions for U.S. and Canadian companies.
"We've come up with a method of digitizing the material that allows us to send an e-mail to our clients every time there's a new offer, with a hyperlink to a website," Mr. Sheeley said. "You can go into the website and get the information you need as an investor to make your decision without printing the document out and going through that mess."
JPMorgan worked with Automatic Data Processing to create the system.
