Oklahoma Firefighters Pension and Retirement System, Oklahoma City, chose four finalists on May 20 in its search for a manager to run $49 million in active domestic small-cap value equities, said Terri Kyger, executive secretary. They are: Burgundy Asset Management, EARNEST Partners, New York Life Investment Management and Thompson Siegel & Walmsley. Ms. Kyger said she expects the board to make a selection at its June 17 meeting.
Officials for the $1.4 billion plan terminated the previous manager, Banc One Investment Advisors, in January because of uncertainty about the future of the investment team after parent Bank One's merger with JPMorgan Chase. The money is parked in a Russell 2000 Value index fund managed by State Street Global Advisors. Plan officials issued an RFP in the first quarter.
