Illinois State Board of Investment, Chicago, is developing a report on farmland investment and how it would fit into the $10.6 billion fund's portfolio, said William Atwood, executive director. Staff will write the report and present it to the board June 22.
"The report would be used for a general discussion on how farmland would be expected to perform in a real estate portfolio and the correlation," he said, adding that he doesn't know if any farmland investments will follow.
