The Advisory Panel on Investment Responsibility at Stanford University, Palo Alto, Calif., will release a report to the university's board of trustees as early as next week on whether the university should divest companies with ties to Sudan, said Cassidy DeLine, press director for Stanford STAND (Students Taking Action Now: Darfur). She said her group hopes the divestment report will be put on the board's agenda when it meets next month. A representative from Stanford Management Co., which oversees $12 billion in assets for its endowment and university funds, declined to comment.
There are four companies in particular in which STAND is urging divestment: PetroChina Co. Ltd., ABB Ltd., Sinopec and Taftnet.
