City of Baton Rouge-Parish of East Baton Rouge (La.) Employees' Retirement System will likely hire a manager May 18 to run $26 million in active domestic small-cap growth equities, said Jeff Yates, retirement administrator for the $890 million pension fund. The investment committee recommended a manager to the board, which called a special meeting for May 18, but Mr. Yates declined to identify the firm. This will be the fund's first small-cap growth portfolio. Funding will come from trimming existing small-cap-to-midcap and midcap portfolios; no manager will be terminated. Consultant Summit Strategies is assisting with the shortlist search.
Actuary Stanley Holcombe & Associates will also present its annual review of the system at the May 18 meeting.
