

John Shea joined Dwight Asset Management as a senior vice president, and Anicia Mendex will join as a vice president, according to a news release. Both are new positions. Mr. Shea will be responsible for developing relationships with corporations, public plans, endowments and foundations on the West Coast, and Ms. Mendex will be responsible for developing Dwight's relationships with investment consulting firms on the West Coast. The two hires will bolster Dwight's ability to serve its expanding West Coast client base, Managing Director David Richardson said in the release. Mr. Shea previously helped lead direct marketing efforts for fixed income and stable value at Deutsche Bank; spokesmen there weren't immediately able to discuss the position. Ms. Mendex was head of fixed-income marketing for Roxbury Capital Management. Phyllis Nelson, head of human resources at Roxbury, confirmed Ms. Mendez's departure but declined to say if the vacancy is being filled.
Kenneth A. Kent was named a consulting actuary at consulting firm Cheiron, he said. He was a consulting actuary in the Washington office of Mercer Human Resource Consulting, where he was laid off in December 2004.
Paul Cavalier was appointed a senior fixed-income researcher at Mercer Investment Consulting in London. It is a new position. He was global head of fixed income at Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch Asset Management but left the firm in November 2003 following internal organizational changes, he said. He was not directly replaced.
