Jeffrey Klein joined HSBC Asset Management as head of U.S. corporate bonds, said Gregg Diliberto, head of global fixed income. Mr. Klein will be a portfolio manager and oversee the firm's corporate bond management system. He will also work for the firm's specialized investment unit, HSBC Halbis Partners. Mr. Klein was a senior credit portfolio manager at Dodge & Cox for 12 years. Steve Gorski, a Dodge & Cox spokesman, did not return calls by press time seeking information about a replacement.
Daniel I. Castro Jr. joined private investment firm GSC Partners as managing director. It is a new position. Until last year, Mr. Castro headed Merrill Lynch's structured finance research group and was CDO strategist. Lang Gibson was hired in September to replace him as CDO strategist; his other duties were absorbed during a restructuring at Merrill Lynch last fall, said Sue McCabe, spokeswoman.
