Gabelli Asset Management will ask shareholders at its May 10 annual meeting to change the firm's name to GAMCO Investors to "better reflect the company's overall business mix," the company said in a news release. Gabelli is a holding company for institutional and private client management, mutual funds, investment partnerships, institutional research and brokerage operations; it has roughly $28 billion in assets under management.
