Molly F. Ashby, chief executive officer of Solera Capital LLC, a New York private equity firm with $250 million under management, received the Corporate Vision Award from Girls Inc. at a March 30 celebration luncheon at the Hilton New York. The award recognizes companies that further opportunities for women and girls, strengthen diversity in the marketplace and support the efforts of organizations serving women and girls.
Girls Inc. is a New York organization formed during the Industrial Revolution to support young women who migrated to cities from rural communities, searching for jobs in textile mills and factories. Now, the group supports scholarships, education, girls' advocacy and research.
Other women leaders also honored at the luncheon included Anne Pollack, senior vice president and chief investment officer, New York Life Insurance Co.; Carla A. Harris, managing director and chairwoman of Morgan Stanley's private placement commitment equity committee; and Mindy Meads, president and chief executive officer of Lands' End Inc. and executive vice president of Sears, Roebuck and Co.
