Labor Secretary Elaine L. Chao named five new members to the ERISA Advisory Council, which makes non-binding recommendations to the pension regulator. They will serve three-year terms. James D. McCool, president of Schwab Corporate Services and responsible for managing $7 billion in retirement plan assets, will represent employers on the council. Kathryn J. Kennedy, an associate professor of law and director of the center for tax law and employee benefits at the John Marshall Law School, will represent the public on the council. Richard D. Landsberg, a benefits lawyer and vice president of Nationwide Financial Services, will represent the insurance industry. Willow J. Prall, a partner in the law firm DeCarlo & Connor, will represent employee organizations. Christopher Rouse, a principal in the accounting firm of Windham Brannon, will represent accounting firms.
