A Nebraska judge dismissed remaining claims from a 2003 lawsuit against the $6.4 billion Nebraska Investment Council, Lincoln, according to a court order. Omaha attorney Larry W. Myers filed the suit in 2003 on behalf of Nebraska taxpayers after the state pension funds lost millions after investing about $200 million in what Mr. Myers believed were risky investments. Lancaster County District Court Judge Paul D. Merritt Jr. signed the order Monday, which declared the remaining claims moot. The court dismissed most of the claims in July 2004, the order said.
Carol L. Kontor, state investment officer, and state Attorney General Jon Bruning did not return calls seeking comment by press time. Attempts to reach Mr. Myers today were unsuccessful.
