Some of the hedge fund world's prominent women are receiving recognition as role models and for their charity work this spring.
Among the 2005 Women Who Make a Difference list from National Council for Research on Women is Dana Hall, managing director of hedge funds-of-funds manager Lighthouse Partners LLC, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and a founder of 100 Women in Hedge Funds. Sandra Urie, chief executive officer of investment consulting firm Cambridge Associates LLC, Boston, is also on the National Council's list. Ms. Urie and Ms. Hall were both honored at a dinner in New York on March 1.
Mindy Posoff, another founder of 100 Women in Hedge Funds, is the first recipient of the Count Me In Pioneer award from the organization's Count Me In for Women's Economic Independence group. Ms. Posoff will receive her award at the first annual Count Me In fund-raiser and awards dinner on March 14.
