Paul P. Heffernan joined Robeco Investment Management as managing director, said Beth McGoldrick, spokeswoman. He is the fifth member of the firm's sales and client service team covering public fund, union and Taft-Hartley areas. Mr. Heffernan is responsible for accounts in the southern U.S. and reports to Bill Supple, head of the sales and client service team, and Jack Coan, managing director and head of sales at Robeco Investment Management. Mr. Heffernan was vice president and Northeast regional manager for AMVESCAP Retirement. Bill Hensel, AMVESCAP spokesman, did not return a call seeking comment by press time. Robeco Investment Management is seeking to hire another person for the team on the West Coast by midyear, Mr. Coan said in a statement.
Richard L. Nuzum was named head of U.S. business at Mercer Investment Consulting, effective April 1, said spokeswoman Stephanie Poe. Mr. Nuzum replaces Barry McInerney, who will become the head of U.S. operations for Mercer Global Investments, the consulting giant's soon-to-be-launched multimanager asset management business. Mr. Nuzum has led Mercer Investment Consulting's Asia ex-Japan business from Singapore since 1996. Garry Hawker, who leads Mercer's investment manager research activities for Asia ex-Japan, will take over Mr. Nuzum's current position.
