Frank Porcelli was named chief operating officer for the Americas at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers; he will be responsible for proprietary, institutional and non-proprietary businesses as well as marketing, said Megan Frank, spokeswoman. It is a new position. He will also be on the firm's executive committee, the senior governing body for Merrill Lynch's investment management business.
Mr. Porcelli was managing director of institutional sales and consultant relations at Putnam Investments; he left there on June 30.
