BP PLC, London, contributed $395 million to its worldwide pension plans in 2004, including $146 million in the fourth quarter, according to a company filing today with the SEC. BP contributed $2.913 billion in 2003.
BP's U.S pension plan had $6.8 billion in assets and was 88% funded as of Dec. 31, 2003, and its U.K. plan had $19.2 billion in assets and was 117% funded, according to an SEC filing in 2004, the most recent figures available.
Ronnie Chappell, BP media representative in New York, wasn't able to provide further details.
