Marsh & McClennan Cos.' Mercer Inc. subsidiary will undergo organizational changes following the retirement of its president, Peter Coster, at the end of January, said Barbara Perlmutter, MMC spokeswoman.
The parent company named Brian M. Storms president and CEO of Mercer Human Resource Consulting; he is currently vice chairman of the unit.
David J. Morrison, president and CEO of Mercer Management Consulting, will assume responsibility for leading the group of MMC's specialty consulting businesses, which will continue to be managed by their current individual leaders. Ms. Perlmutter said Mr. Morrison's title will not immediately change. Both Mr. Storms and Mr. Morrison are also members of Mercer's board of directors.
The specialty consulting businesses comprise Mercer Strategy and Operations, Mercer Oliver Wyman, Mercer Delta Organizational Consulting, Lippincott Mercer and NERA Economic Consulting.
Michael G. Cherkasky, president and CEO of MMC, said the changes "represent important steps in streamlining accountability while ensuring that our leaders remain close to the clients and markets they serve."
