Aloha Airlines Inc., Honolulu, did not make $1.4 million in scheduled payments into its employee pension plan last year, said Stu Glauberman, spokesman. "In the calendar year 2004, the company had a combined contribution requirement of $11.3 million, and of the total required payment for all plans, Aloha paid all but $1.4 million." Mr. Glauberman said a letter was sent recently to "non-represented employees to the effect that a payment had not been made in October." He would not say why the company failed to make the payment. Aloha has six pension plans for its 3,668 employees; Aloha's parent, Aloha Air Group, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Dec. 30. Mr. Glauberman would not disclose current assets; the airline has $335 million in pension assets, according to Money Market Directory.
