Imperial Chemical Industries, London, added £70 million ($131.1 million) to an emerging markets debt portfolio run by Ashmore Investment Management, raising it to £140 million, said John Edgar, Imperial Chemical spokesman. Imperial, which has a £6 billion U.K. pension fund and other plans worldwide, hired Ashmore in 2003, he said. Mr. Edgar could not say how the added investment was funded; Jerome Booth, spokesman for Ashmore Investment, said funding came from rebalancing.
