Hedge fund managers are going into this month even more bullish than they were in December, according to a survey of 23 macro hedge fund managers by Van Hedge Fund Advisors International. About 57% of respondents said they were bullish about U.S. equities, compared with 55% in December. Only 17% of managers were neutral about U.S. stocks, compared with 25% in December. And 26% of respondents were bearish in January, up from 20% in December but still down dramatically from 42% in November.
But when it comes to the prospects for U.S. bonds - specifically 10-Year Treasury notes - 61% of respondents were bearish, 30% were bullish and 9% were neutral.
