Streamwood (Ill.) Police Pension Fund plans to interview finalists in the next two months in its search for at least one active domestic fixed-income manager, said David A. Richardson, village finance director and treasurer for the $20 million pension plan. The plan, which currently has about $12 million in fixed-income index funds run by Robert W. Baird and Smith Barney, will move to active management in an attempt to increase returns.
The board of the $13 million Streamwood Firefighters' Pension Fund will also interview finalists in a similar search in the next two months. The firefighters' plan has roughly $7.8 million in fixed-income index funds with the same firms.
Each plan issued an RFP in the fourth quarter.
