Dow Jones and Wilshire Associates plan to launch U.S. equity indexes in early 2005 covering five investment styles: large-cap growth, large-cap value, small-cap growth, small-cap value and microcap, according to Kim Shepherd, Wilshire spokeswoman. The launch date is not firm, she added. The companies use six factors for style classification: five-year average earnings growth and sales growth; price/book value ratio; dividend yield; forecasts of price/earnings ratios; and long-term earnings growth.
