Connecticut Retirement Plans and Trust Funds, Hartford, is considering hiring AEW Capital Management as a core real estate, said Susan Sweeney, CIO. Officials at the $20 billion system had not determined the portfolio size or the funding source. A decision on the hiring is expected in October. Ms. Sweeney also said the system plans to issue an RFP for a commingled real estate fund manager in the fourth quarter. Real estate consultant Pension Consulting Alliance will assist.
Separately, the pension fund plans to sell the Goodwin Square complex in downtown Hartford, which includes a hotel, 30-story office tower, adjoining atrium and parking garage.
