Connecticut Retirement Plans & Trust Funds, Hartford, plans to issue an RFP for a commingled real estate fund manager in the fourth quarter, said Susan Sweeney, CIO. The $20 billion system's real estate consultant, Pension Consulting Alliance, will assist. Further details haven't been determined.
Separately, the system is considering hiring AEW Capital Management as a core real estate manager, Ms. Sweeney said. Plan officials have not determined the portfolio size or the funding source. A decision on the hiring is expected in October. The pension fund also plans to sell the Goodwin Square complex in downtown Hartford, which includes a hotel, 30-story office tower, adjoining atrium and parking garage.
