Sarah Ball Teslik resigned as executive director of the Council of Institutional Investors, Washington, to become chief executive officer of the Certified Financial Planners Board of Standards Inc., effective Jan. 1. Ms. Teslik will work in the Denver headquarters. She was executive director of CII for 16 years, the only one it has had in its 20-year history. "It was tough" deciding to leave the council, Ms. Teslik said. "I wish I could be cloned and have both jobs." Meredith Williams, CII chairman and executive director of the $30 billion Colorado Public Employees' Retirement Association, Denver, said, "I am surprised and disappointed" by her resignation. Mr. Williams said the CII board hopes to have a search process in place next week. "We frankly don't have any rules or regulations or policies regarding this situation," he said. The CFPBS position "apparently has been vacant for some time," according to a CFPBS spokeswoman. "Gary Diffendaffer is currently serving as acting CEO." Heidrick & Struggles was the executive recruiter.
