Paul Schott Stevens, president of the Investment Company Institute, expressed support for the call Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass., made last week for pension funds to disclose their proxy votes on the stocks they hold, as is required of mutual funds. Such a move could alleviate many of the ICI's concerns about the burdens and costs of that requirement on mutual funds and should be considered carefully, Mr. Stevens told a group of reporters in Boston today.
