Philip N. Russo was named chief financial officer at Delaware Investments, said Tom Gariepy, spokesman. He replaced interim finance chief Joseph H. Hastings, who will remain Delaware's controller and treasurer. Mr. Russo was a vice president, finance, with Prudential Investment Management. John Fleurant, also a vice president, finance, with Prudential, will assume Mr. Russo's duties, said Leigh Manganaro, Prudential spokeswoman.
Michael R. Anastasio Jr. was named chief financial officer of Gabelli Asset Management. He replaces Robert Zuccaro, who left the firm in July 2003. Mr. Anastasio was the firm's chief accounting officer.
Also, Henry G. Van der Eb was named senior vice president at Gabelli, a new position. He remains managing partner and will continue portfolio management, securities analysis, marketing and client service at the firm. In his new duties, Mr. Van der Eb will be a senior adviser to Gabelli management.
Daniel J. Johnedis and Mark Plimley were named vice presidents at Wilshire Associates. Mr. Johnedis will be responsible for due diligence and manager selection of traditional and alternative managers for Wilshire Funds Management. The position is new. He was chief investment officer at Waypoint Advisors, where he was replaced by Graham Spiers; further information about Mr. Spiers was not available. Mr. Plimley will be responsible for managing client relationship teams for Wilshire Analytics, also a new position. He was executive manager of investments for the $5 billion-plus defined benefit and defined contribution funds at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Sydney. Information on his replacement was not available.
Vincent J. Dugan was appointed chief financial officer and chief operating officer at Third Avenue Management, confirmed Bridget Smith, director of marketing communications. Mr. Dugan replaced Michael Carney, who retired, as CFO, Ms. Smith said. The COO position had been vacant. Mr. Dugan also was appointed the CFO and COO of Third Avenue's affiliated broker-dealer, M.J. Whitman. Mr. Carney also was CFO at Whitman. Mr. Dugan joined the firm from Ernst & Young LLP, New York, where he was a partner in the financial services division.
Simon Hutchinson was named transition management strategist for Europe at Northern Trust Global Investments. He replaces Kevin Hardy, who was named global head of transition management in June, according to a news release from Northern Trust. Mr. Hutchinson was head of U.K. clients and portfolio trading at Instinet; his duties are being handled by Tony Mackay, head of equities for Instinet Europe, said Stephen Austin, Instinet spokesman. Separately, Robin R. Kollannur and Donna L. Renaud were named portfolio managers on the large-cap value equity team of Northern Trust Global Investments. The positions are new. Previously Mr. Kollannur was a portfolio manager with Medius Capital Group; information on a replacement wasn't immediately available. Ms. Renaud previously worked at Renaud Asset Management, a firm she founded. Guy Lawrence, a spokesman for Northern Trust, said the firm was closed.
Martin Harris was named managing director, U.K. defined benefits, at Fidelity Investments, effective in November. Mr. Harris has been head of U.K. institutional business at First State Investments (U.K.). Officials at First State could not be reached by press time for information about his replacement.
Jennifer P. Hunt will join Voyageur Asset Management as a managing director, institutional sales, specializing in public pension funds. It is a new position. Previously Ms. Hunt was vice president, public fund sales, with Loomis Sayles. Her responsibilities at Loomis are being assumed by her four colleagues on the public fund sales team, said company spokesman Chris Lazzaro.
Scott Majeski was named vice president of Ibbotson Associates' investment management services group, a new position, said Alexa Auerbach, spokeswoman. Mr. Majeski was the group's senior consultant; his duties will be handled by other consultants in the group.
Carol W. Proffer was named a partner at private placement agent Capstone Partners, a new position, said Tiffany Lauterbach, associate. Ms. Proffer was senior consultant in charge of private equity research at Stratford Advisory Group. Julie Haug, spokeswoman for Stratford, did not return a call by press time seeking information on Ms. Proffer's replacement.
