Charles E. Haldeman Jr., Myra R. Drucker and Richard B. Worley were nominated to the Putnam Funds board of trustees. Mr. Haldeman, president and CEO of Putnam Investments, would take the board seat of former CEO and President Lawrence J. Lasser, who left the company in late 2003. Ms. Drucker is vice chair of the board of Sarah Lawrence College, Bronxville, N.Y., and will remain managing director of marketing and business development at General Motors Asset Management until Aug. 31. Mr. Worley is a managing partner of Permit Capital Telecom. Ms. Drucker and Mr. Worley were tapped to fill the vacancy for an independent trustee left when W. Nicholas Thorndike retired in June, and another independent position that is due to become vacant over the next year or two. If elected, the board of trustees will have 11 independent and three interested members.
