Scott Majeski was named vice president of Ibbotson Associates' investment management services group, a new position, said Alexa Auerbach, spokeswoman. Mr. Majeski was the group's senior consultant; his duties will be handled by other consultants in the group.
Owen Whitworth was appointed chairman of the $20 billion Texas Employees Retirement System, Austin, said Mary Jane Wardlow, spokeswoman. He replaces Milton Hixson, whose term expires at the end of August. Mr. Whitworth was vice chairman; he will be replaced by board member Carolyn Gallagher.
Scott Parsons was named executive vice president, strategic and government affairs, at the Managed Funds Association, effective Aug. 31. The position is new. He was chief of staff and COO of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Mr. Parsons and MFA President John G. Gaine will lobby policy-makers about legislative and regulatory issues affecting hedge funds. Mr. Parsons will also oversee the group's development of strategic policy initiatives, membership and education programs.
