Thomas A. Bennett, former trustee of the $8.1 billion Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund, Columbus, was indicted for felony theft, accused of accepting gifts from firms doing business with the plan, according to a spokeswoman for Ron O'Brien, Franklin County prosecutor. She said an initial court date was set for Sept. 3 in Franklin County Common Pleas Court, Columbus. H. Ritchey Hollenbaugh, the attorney with of Carlile Patchen & Murphy who is representing Mr. Bennett, said he is working with Mr. O'Brien to reach a settlement. David Graham, pension fund spokesman, declined comment.
