Dell Inc., Procter & Gamble Co., Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing Co. and AFLAC Inc. rated highest among U.S. companies in their respective industries for their effectiveness in corporate investor relations, according to a Greenwich Associates survey of 1,200 investment analysts.
"Doing a good job of investor relations may not impact shareholder value, but doing a poor job almost certainly will," John Webster, managing director at Greenwich Associates, said in a statement. "The ratings that these companies received indicate that they are doing a credible job of relating to the analyst community regarding their corporate performance."
The analysts, surveyed between January and March, were asked "to evaluate companies they cover based on capability and accessibility of senior management, the quality and accuracy of financial reporting and the overall performance of each companies' investor relations managers," according to a Greenwich statement.
