Bruce O. Kallos, executive director of the $1.1 billion Arlington County (Va.) Employees' Retirement System, was put on indefinite administrative leave with pay based on an audit of his expense reports for the last 12 months. Trustees first became aware Mr. Kallos had "acted improperly" in April, Steven Ivins, president of the board, said in a statement. The board expects to receive the full audit report before the next board meeting on Aug. 5, when trustees will make a final decision about Mr. Kallos' status. Steve Watts, assistant director/pension investment officer, said he will handle the pension fund's investment matters. Mr. Kallos could not be reached at his home in Wilmington, Del., for comment.
