The Russell 3000's total market capitalization jumped 32% to $13.3 trillion, from $10.1 trillion a year ago, the last time Russell Investment Group reconstituted the index. General Electric Co. retained its spot as the largest stock in terms of market capitalization, with $317.8 billion, up from $286.8 billion a year ago, according to a news release from Russell. The market capitalization of the median company in the Russell 3000 has reached $822.4 million, up 32% from $622.3 million in 2003, according to Russell, which will post the new membership lists for the Russell 3000, 2000 and 1000 indexes on its website, www.russell.com, on July 6.
