Anne Stausboll was named assistant executive officer for investment operations at the $161 billion California Public Employees' Retirement System, Sacramento. She succeeds Robert Aguallo, who left CalPERS in January 2003 to become general manager of the $7.9 billion Los Angeles City Employees' Retirement System. Ms. Stausboll left her post as California's chief deputy treasurer two months ago; a replacement has not been named. Prior to joining state Treasurer Phil Angelides' office in 1999, she had worked in CalPERS' legal office for six years, including two years as deputy general counsel.
