Ohio Public Employees Retirement System, Columbus, is seeking a senior external manager and a fund manager, new positions at the $60 billion system. The external manager will oversee the $49 billion pension plan's international money managers; the new job also will allow "some consolidation of external management from other asset classes," said spokesman Rich Baker. The fund manager will oversee the system's $11 billion in health-care assets. The new positions replace that of deputy director of investments, a job vacant since Farouki Majeed resigned earlier this month.
The system will hire an executive recruiter "in the near term" to handle the searches. The positions are expected to be filled in the third quarter, Mr. Baker said.
