RiskMetrics Group is receiving a $122 million recapitalization investment from private equity firm Spectrum Equity Investors, along with General Atlantic Partners and Technology Crossover Ventures. Under the agreement, which was finalized Monday, the three firms bought out the original seven corporate investors that had invested in the firm when it spun off from J.P. Morgan Chase Inc. in September 1998, said John Roderick, spokesman. None of the three new investors holds a majority interest in the firm, he said.
RiskMetrics provides risk analytics for hedge fund and alternative investment managers.
