Juan De La Cruz Farmworkers Pension Plan, Keene, Calif., invested $20 million in the PIMCO StocksPLUS mutual fund, said Douglas L. Blaylock, administrator of the $101 million plan. Plan officials also chose finalists in a shortlist search for a $5 million active domestic large-cap value equity portfolio; the board will interview finalists Friday. Funding comes from Institutional Capital, whose active domestic large-cap value equity portfolio totaled $25 million; it currently manages the remaining $5 million and is one of the finalists for that portfolio. Trustees chose the mutual fund to reduce the risk in the plan's overall 60% equity allocation, but they want a more aggressive strategy for the large-cap value portfolio, Mr. Blaylock said. The names of the other finalists were not available. A selection is expected within two weeks. Wurts & Associates is assisting.
