The Russell 3000's overall market value will likely increase to $13.3 trillion when Russell Investment Group completes its annual index reconstitution in July, according to a news release from the company. The market value of the Russell 3000 was $11 trillion in July 2003.
There are 323 companies on initial list of firms to be added to the Russell 3000, up from 289 last year but less than the 10-year average of 440. Those being added this year include 95 initial public offerings, up from 28 in 2003, according to the news release.
Final membership lists for the Russell 3000, Russell 2000 and Russell 1000 will be set July 6.
