Massachusetts Public Employee Retirement Administration Commission, Somerville, on June 15 will host a conference on corporate governance and public fund investment for officials of the 106 local and regional pension systems it oversees. The conference will be at the Hogan Conference Center, Holy Cross College, Worcester. Speakers will include Timothy Cahill, state treasurer and a trustee of the $32 billion Massachusetts Pension Reserves Investment Management Board, Boston.
The investment unit of PERAC is responsible for regulatory oversight of the investment portfolios of the local and regional systems, which have a combined $13 billion in assets; its actuarial unit determines the annual appropriation for each of the systems.
