Pennsylvania State Employees' Retirement System, Harrisburg, reported an investment return of 4.5% for the first quarter and 32.1% for the year ended March 31, according to Sean Sanderson, spokesman. The $25.5 billion system's domestic equity portfolio, which makes up 38% of the fund, returned 3.5% for the quarter and 42.2% for the year. Its international equity portfolio, which makes up 22% of the fund, returned 5.6% for the quarter and 60.1% for the year. Its private equity portfolio, which makes up 9% of the fund, returned 11.6% for the quarter and 25.1% for the year.
