Brian C. Tipple was named director of U.S. equities at Russell Investment Group. He replaced Paul Greenwood, who is leaving to pursue other opportunities. Mr. Tipple was chairman and CEO of Sirach Capital, where he managed the firm's U.S. large-cap equity portfolios. As of Dec. 31, Sirach ran $710 million in large-cap growth equity, nearly half of the firm's $1.635 billion in assets under management. Prior to joining Sirach in 2000, Mr. Tipple was at Russell for 13 years.
Harvey Bateman, managing director-equity strategy at Sirach Capital, did not return calls by press time for comment or details on Mr. Tipple's replacement.
