General Motors Corp. shareholders today defeated all seven shareholder proposals, including one calling for an independent chairman that was rejected by 87.4% of the vote. A proposal calling for shareholder approval of lucrative severance packages for senior executives received 23% of the vote, while another calling for a report on greenhouse emissions got only 6.2%. Detroit-based GM's directors were re-elected with 92.6% of the vote, and Deloitte & Touche was ratified as auditor with 98.6% approval.
The voting results, provided by a GM spokesman, are preliminary.
