Georgia Firefighters' Pension Fund, Decatur, hired active domestic value equity managers Cooke & Bieler and Private Capital, and active domestic fixed-income managers Lord Abbett, Victory Capital and Hyperion to run a combined $150 million for the $475 million plan, said James R. Meynard, executive director. Cooke & Bieler will run a large-cap portfolio; Private Capital, all-cap; Lord Abbett and Victory, convertibles; and Hyperion, commercial mortgages, Mr. Meynard said. He declined to specify portfolio sizes. Funding came from an S&P 500 index fund run by State Street Global Advisors, he said. Consulting Services Group assisted. The plan's asset allocation is 60% equity and 40% fixed income.
