Kansas City (Mo.) Public School Retirement System hired State Street Global Advisors to run $90 million in an S&P 500 enhanced index portfolio, and increased a similar portfolio run by Barclays Global Investors by $30 million, to $90 million, said Cecelia M. Carter, executive director. Funding came from rebalancing, she said. Asset Consulting Group assisted.
Separately, the $692 million plan is finalizing contracts with its first private equity and domestic low-volatility index bond managers, Ms. Carter said. Each will receive $17 million; she declined to identify the firms. Funding will come from further rebalancing, she said. The changes follow a review of the plan's asset allocation, which is 64.5% equity (of which 2.5 percentage points is in private equity) and 35.5% fixed income. Asset Consulting Group is assisting.
