The New York Stock Exchange nominated seven directors for re-election. Elections are scheduled at the exchange's annual meeting June 3. According to the NYSE proxy statement, directors Madeleine K. Albright, Herbert M. Allison Jr., Marshall N. Carter, Shirley Ann Jackson, James S. McDonald, Robert B. Shapiro and Sir Dennis Weatherstone were all nominated for a second one-year term. Director D. Euan Baird resigned from the board and is not eligible to run for re-election because he is on the board of Societe Generale, which owns an NYSE-member firm. NYSE members first elected the slate of directors in November after a shakeup following the resignation of Richard Grasso as chairman and chief executive over his $139.5 million pay package.
