St. Louis County Retirement Plans, Clayton, Mo., interviewed Armstrong Shaw, Aronson + Johnson + Ortiz, Brandywine Asset and Missouri Valley Partners as finalists in its search for a manager to run $40 million in active domestic large-cap value equities for the $345 million plan, said Kirk McCarley, personnel director. Plan officials will terminate Chartwell Investment because of performance of a similar portfolio; Chartwell was invited to rebid but did not submit a proposal, Mr. McCarley said.
Trustees have not set a date for making a selection; their next board meeting is scheduled for May 27. Summit Strategies is assisting.
Maria Pollack, Chartwell spokeswoman, did not return calls seeking comment.
