Indiana Public Employees' Retirement Fund, Indianapolis, decided to reopen its search for a chief investment officer and expand it nationally, said Patrick Lane, communications director for the $10.1 billion fund. The fund has been without a CIO since last fall, when Patricia J. Gerrick left.
Trustees had expected to select a CIO March 19 from a group of candidates narrowed to fewer than five finalists. Fund officials declined to disclose the exact number. But the selection was delayed by the board committee for further due diligence. No details were available on why the board decided to expand the search, or if the board will contract with an executive recruiting firm.
